Natural Lake and Pond Building Services
Fresh Water Ecosystems
At Let’s Wet Texas, we specialize in creating natural water features for ranches and wildlife management. Our clay and bentonite materials are perfect for ponds, tanks, and lakes, and our high-quality plastic lining is safe for aquatic life.
Bentonite
Bentonite lining is a reliable and cost-effective solution for preventing seepage in ponds and lakes. While plastic lining is an option, it can be more expensive. Bentonite materials can be mixed with other materials to create an effective and environmentally-friendly liner that is also affordable.
Lining
Lining is to line the pond with plastic, which provides a reliable and long-lasting solution with little to no seepage. However, this method can be more expensive than other options.

Let’s Start Building Your beautiful Lake Today!
HI,WE ARE THE RANKIN FAMILY!
The Rankin family has been working on land services since 1954, and we understand the importance of water features for the love of nature and the ecosystems that come with it.
Based in Hondo, Texas, we are deeply rooted in the land and the weather, and we have a passion for creating sustainable water features that enhance the beauty and functionality of our client’s properties.
Our story began when Michael’s wife asked for a pond on their ranch, and he, being a good Texan husband, built her a massive lake that greatly increased the value of the property.
With a extensive knowledge of the different layers of soil and rock in the Texan area, we are able to provide custom solutions that are tailored to our client’s specific needs and goals.
At Let’s Wet Texas, we are committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service that exceeds your expectations.
Our Process
How We Build Our Lakes
At Let’s Wet Texas, we are committed to providing you with exceptional services that meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Here are some reasons why you should choose us for your next project:
We begin by analyzing the ground and determining the best approach to excavating it. This usually involves separating the components of the soil, which allows us to select the most suitable material to create the best composition for the mix. These compositions vary depending on the project, but they generally include things like clay, sand, and silt, among others.
The selection of the right component to mix with the bentonite depends on the geography of the region, the preference of the client, the size of the lake, and other essential considerations that are taken into account when planning and executing these construction projects.
Once we have separated the components, we then mix the suitable component with bentonite to create a seal. Bentonite helps control water quality and color, which we guarantee in every project we undertake. The combination of suitable material and bentonite results in a water-tight seal that will prevent water seepage and other issues that can compromise the look and usefulness of the lake or pond.
As a result, our methods are specifically tailored to the requirements of the project and the client’s needs, ensuring the highest standard of quality and a remarkable outcome every time. We at Let’s Wet Texas take pride in our work, and we are committed to providing our clients with a stimulating view of seeing the transformation of the barren land into a gorgeous water feature they have always desired.
